Coffee Table Stylin’.

IMG_4172.JPG

In case you couldn’t tell, I’ve got a little bit of a thing for gold accents… And houseplants… And having too many books… So I’m your stereotypical blogger, sue me! BUT until recently, we were yet to own a coffee table – and now we do, and I have yet another surface to attempt to style.

The table itself was a gift from my lovely parents, and I have lots of happy memories of this in our living room, brimming with everything from party food to poster paints and primary school art projects. I guess I’d just assumed that the table had been donated or given to someone else, so when my Mum offered it to me, I was very surprised – and grateful! But I wasn’t entirely sure what to do with it at first.

In the few short weeks we’ve had this little table-y gem, my boyfriend and I have been getting into a bad tv dinner habit, and the table had turned into something of a mini dumping ground. So I decided this might be the perfect excuse to give the top of the table a little bit of love. As you might be able to see in the photos, there are more than a few water marks and stains, and I’m considering trying a marble effect on the top, or maybe upcycling it a little in a different way (any suggestions you have, let me know!). I know I definitely need to invest in some coasters regardless – I’ve got my eye on these Anthropologie beauties as a little christmas gift to myself. But in the meantime, I’ve done my best with keeping a little theme and styling with some well loved trinkets and a few new bits and bobs. Have a little nosey below and see what you think!
