Gift Guide: For Her.

Here it is: my first ever gift guide! Obviously I’m gonna start with the one I know most about: shopping for all those lovely ladies in your life. From stockings for your Momma Bear to secret santa for your work wife, hopefully these suggestions will give you lots of ideas to suit any budget.

When it comes to buying for all those sassy chica pals, I do tend to buy things I’d love to receive, and often have a hard time actually handing them over! I personally think it’s nice to mix really personal and thoughtful gifts with something a bit more basic – because who doesn’t love a good chocolate coin or a pair of cosy socks?

I think these amazing embroidered boots would make a really fabulous special present, for maybe a sister or your bff – they’d definitely be on my list for Father Christmas (y’know, if I didn’t already own ’em!). I’m really loving the mix of cosmic embroidery and velvet – and just imagine the look of excitement on her face when she opens the wrapping to find these beauties, and then gets to strut around in them for the rest of Christmas day! I really love Mango for festive occasion wear, and this fur scarf is another cracker, I just love the colours.

When it comes to cosmetics gifts, I know sometimes I can be hard to know which scents will suit someone, so I tend to stick to smaller items like hand creams, lip tints and maybe a cheeky glitter nail polish. I adore the scent of this lotus flower and amber hand cream, likewise this ‘Sleepy’ body lotion from Lush is an absolute dream – and has the added benefit of aiding a peaceful night’s sleep, making it the perfect gift for that friend who seems constantly tired from all those parties – or lies awake at night stressing about the mountain of wrapping that lies ahead (ahem, me!). If you’re still not sure about buying something smelly, this velvet cosmetic bag from Oliver Bonas would be perfect for storing all her current beauty favourites.

Jewellery is another gift that can be a little hit and miss, but if it’s a gal pal that you know inside out, it can truly be one of the best gifts to receive. I love this moon and star gold necklace from ASOS, and this adorable gold ring – both would make really ace gifts, especially if worn together. Or why not combine a cute ring with somewhere to store it? This gem ring holder would make the cutest little stocking filler – especially when paired with its blush-coloured little sister (both from Oliver Bonas). I also love this knotted sterling silver bangle – it’s so dainty and elegant, perfect for Boxing Day lunch with the grandparents.

I also think books are a great fail-safe present – just chose something on a topic you know she’s interested in, or something really affirming and uplifting to help her banish those January blues. When I saw this book I immediately thought how great a present it would make for the lady that has an old soul – a subject that speaks to me as a girl who really struggles to connect with modern beauty and style standards.

I love buying and wrapping it all up (after laying all the gifts out in my bedroom to admire first, obvs!), and that wonderful feeling when you’ve really thought about a gift and know they’re going to love it. It’s that feeling you get when everything comes together – like when you’re stuck on what to get someone, then suddenly have a eureka moment and end up with a couple of great presents on a similar theme – it makes my heart so happy!

All this being said, I also feel like we should take the pressure off ourselves to give perfect presents – it’s often the silliest/most obvious presents that are the most gratefully received, and nobody should have to spend a fortune or bankrupt themselves just because they feel they ought to. Whether you get your favourite lady a fancy candle or a lush pair of festive pjs, just remember what your granny always said: it’s the thought that counts!
