Ah, autumn. I love all the seasons for different reasons, but autumn has a special place in my heart. I love the crisp mornings, the colour and crunch of fallen leaves, the sunset glow at dusk as the nights draw in, and the opportunity to spend more time indoors without feeling any guilt whatsoever.
Part of preparing for the colder months means it’s time for a little home refresh. As I start to spend more time at home, it feels only right to invest in a few key pieces; some new cushions in warmer colours, a soft throw or two, a couple of trinkets and maybe a new chair or pouffé to make my favourite reading corner even cosier. I’m one of those people that like my home to be looking its best for the festive season, so I tend to like to make any slightly bigger home purchases at this time of year so that by christmas all I need to do is buy a new bauble or two and put up the decorations.
As a general rule, I like to keep the house fairly neutral; the three ‘w’s will do me just fine (that’s white, wood and wicker btw!). That being said, I do also really like the occasional pop of a muted colour to bring a little more life and personality to a space, and a few splashes of gold never go amiss either.
What do you think of my picks? How do you like to get your home ready for autumn? Let me know in the comments below!
